About Amir Rizwan
Amir is Director of London Social Ventures, a pan-London initiative funded by Research England. He leads the initiatives work to grow a stronger social venture ecosystem across London’s universities, supporting the development of social ventures that combine commercial potential with meaningful social and environmental impact The programme offers venture support, ecosystem coordination and place-based pilots that link academic research, student entrepreneurship and public need with community practice, drawing on strengths from across the university sector. Amir works with universities, public bodies and corporate partners to position social ventures as a strategic mechanism for inclusive innovation and long-term civic delivery. Over the past 13 years, he has worked across the UK’s social investment landscape, leading initiatives that support mission driven organisations to access finance, strengthen delivery, and shift power towards community-led solutions.
