About Us

The Civic University Network was made possible thanks to our initial funders, the UPP Foundation, Arts Council England, the Department for Education, Carnegie UK and Sheffield Hallam University.

The Network was led by Sheffield Hallam University from 2020–2025, in partnership with a consortium of universities and sector organisations. From 2026, the Network is hosted and coordinated by the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE), working with a consortium of founding partners committed to sustaining and developing this work.

The National Civic Impact Accelerator (NCIA) concludes as planned in December 2025 and has been made possible with funding from Research England. It has been led by Sheffield Hallam University in partnership with the NCCPE, the Institute for Community Studies, City-REDI and Queen Mary University of London.
