“Going Further and Higher” is a comprehensive report that explores the potential for enhanced collaboration between colleges and universities across the UK. Produced by the Independent Commission on the College of the Future and Sheffield Hallam University for the Civic University Network, it assesses current opportunities and challenges in building more integrated education and skills systems. The report outlines a vision for stronger college-university partnerships, offering recommendations for sector leaders and policymakers to foster collaboration, incentivise joint working, and drive cultural change. Drawing on existing policies and partnerships, it aims to showcase how improved FE-HE relationships can better support individuals, employers and communities in all four UK nations.
